Puppet’s Lament
Poem by Triveni Raval-Dave
I am a puppet who dances
Walks the way my master wants
I am his breadwinner
End of each day
He dumps me in the same old box
Throwing me in darkness
But I am lucky
His children sleep cold and hungry
In my warm box I don’t need food
I am a puppet
